The Text content type is intended for sending material, which is principally textual in form and is the default content type.
The rich text format is a document file format developed by Microsoft for cross-platform document exchange.
A “charset” parameter, which is an optional one may be used to indicate the character, set of the body text. The primary subtype of text in question is plain. This indicates plain text, which is unformatted.
In order to promote the wider operation of simple formatted text, we can define an extremely simple subtype of text, the “richtext” subtype. This subtype was designed to meet the following areas -
1. The rich text syntax must be extremely simple to parse, so that even the oldest teletype-oriented mail systems can easily strip away the formatting information and leave only the readable text.
2. The syntax must be extensible to allow for new formatting commands that are deemed essential for the operation of viewing and formatting.
3. The capabilities must be extremely limited, to ensure that it can represent no more than what is likely to be represented by the user’s primary word processor, so that the minimum possible can be viewed an edited if wanted.
MIME Types text/vnd.wap.wml
A part of the MIME family where the MIME media type is the text and the MIME subtype is vnd.wap.ml. There are no required parameters in this MIME but the optional ones are charset and level.
It helps in web configuration when a Web browser receives a page; it has to distinguish between HTML, image, audio, and video. To enable this, with every response from the Web server, a piece of header information is sent to the browser. This is known as MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension). Some of the common MIME types include text/html for HTML files and image/gif for GIF files. To enable the Web server to serve WAP documents, it needs some new MIME types. This also includes text/vnd.wap.wml, which is, and essentiality for wap browsers. The main contents of this are WML markup in plain-text form.

As the name suggests this MIME is for applications of video and primarily the ones in the quick time format. Everyone must have heard about Quick Time Player, and if we correlate with that QuickTime is a multimedia framework developed by Apple Incorporation which is capable of handling various formats of digital video, media clips, sound, text, music, animation and also interactive panoramic images. This format was initially for MAC OS X but now is available to Windows Users also.
MIME is used over the Internet by web browsers for transmission of data apart from text and similarly this MIME is used for video purposes. All the browsers in MAC OS X support the QuickTime MIME because it is already in built in that, while windows users have to download the Quick Time Player.
If you have ever experienced some web browser not playing any video file and displaying an error message regarding a format, then it is highly possible that you might not be having the Quick Time MIME installed on your computer.
Linux Operating system doesn’t support the Quick Time MIME hence Linux users will have problems accessing Quick Time files.
This MIME, which is commonly known as the Quick Time MIME, is very useful for playback of videos in most of the web browsers.
