School Uniforms An Intro
Every school, almost, today has a uniform dress code. We call them usually the school uniforms. They have pretty much become standardized clothes prescribed by almost every school in the world today. It is interesting to note that this kind of an ethic is most predominant only in the East and not so in the West where we get to see liberalism extended to these matters too. The history of school uniforms is purportedly dated back to the Roman-era, or the Greek philosophers where the concept of students, universities, etc. prevailed. Perhaps, this dating is a bit late and school uniforms might have existed even before, but the fact remains that these were introduced quite a long time back. Today, most of us attach to this philosophy of uniformity in every part. Much debate too has originated these days, especially from liberal societies and economies, pertaining to the use of school uniforms. Different lines of thought have come up. While one research says that usage of school uniforms makes students feel equal and comfortable amidst others (instead of shy), the counter to this states that we must “embrace differences” than unnecessarily trying to avoid them. Nevertheless, academical performance has not been found to be affected through uniforms.
